Guide

Training

Press start, shoot as you normally would, and OpticArchery does the rest: it follows every arrow, flags what to fix and plays the shot back.

Start and stop

  • Start shooting (or Space) starts the session. The button turns red and reads Stop shooting; press it again to pause.
  • New session ends the session and resets the counters, for example when the next archer steps up.
  • The top of the screen shows SHOTS, TIME, your LAST score and your AVG for the session.

How it follows your shot

There's nothing to press between arrows. OpticArchery recognizes each stage of your shot from your posture:

StageWhat it looks for
SetupBow arm coming up, bow hand still low.
DrawBoth hands up at shoulder height, bow arm straight.
AnchorDraw hand still at your face for about a second.
Follow ThroughYour draw hand moves back past your head, or away from your face, after the release.

When you lower both arms after the follow-through, the shot is complete. Two habits help it stay in step with you:

  • Lower both arms fully between shots. That's how it knows one shot ended and the next one starts.
  • Letting down? Just lower your arms. That shot is dropped and not counted.

The live coaching

Your form overlay

A skeleton is drawn over your body. When a check fails, the body parts involved turn red, right as it happens.

The coaching cards

CardWhat it shows
STAGEThe stage you're in and how long you've been in it, with your target time. At anchor the timer turns orange near your target and red when you hold far too long.
FIX THIS NOWThe most important fault right now, with a coaching tip on how to fix it. If more than one check fails, it also names the next one.
LAST SHOTThe score and rhythm of your previous shot and its main fault, with Open replay to watch it again.

The instant replay

The moment a shot is complete, the replay opens by itself. After a short countdown it plays the shot twice with your form overlay, then closes and you're ready for the next arrow.

  • On the side: your SHOT ACCURACY, a COACH TIP for this shot, and the list of faults.
  • Pause / Play, Frame − and Frame + to study a moment frame by frame, and drag the timeline to scrub.
  • Next fault → jumps to where the next fault starts.
  • Pick a speed from 25% to 200%. ⟳ Loop keeps it playing until you close it.
  • Close or Esc to go back to shooting.

With a subscription, shots are saved automatically. Don't want this one in your record, for example because someone walked through the picture? Click Discard shot. If it says “Nothing to discard yet, try again in a second.”, wait a moment and click again.

Change the countdown, the number of loops, the speed, or turn off auto-close in SETTINGS → Replay.

What your score means

Each shot is graded on the checks for every stage. Your score is the share of checks you passed: pass 9 out of 10 and you score 90%. A fault counts once, however long it lasts.

ScoreShown as
85% and upGreen. Strong form.
60 to 84%Orange. Solid, with something to work on.
Below 60%Red. Room to grow: pick one fault and work on that first.

A shot with no faults at all is a clean shot.

After your session

With a subscription, open PERFORMANCE to see how it went. Use Filter: to look at today or all your sessions.

  • OVERVIEW: your overall score, number of shots, average anchor time, weakest area, and your most common mistakes.
  • SHOT LOG: every shot with its stage times and score. Click a shot to watch its replay again.
  • STAGE TIMINGS: how steady your rhythm is in each stage.
  • Export PDF: a report to keep or to share with your coach.

Make it fit you

  • Active rules on LIVE ANALYSIS lists every check. SHOW draws it on the video, GRADE counts it in your score. Working on one thing? Switch off the rest for now.
  • RULE TUNING lets you make each check stricter or looser for one archer, test the change on your recent shots, and save it. Click SAVE CONFIGURATION to keep your changes.
